Western Australia Police (WAPOL) manages the largest policing jurisdiction in the world, and face increasing challenges from doing more with less, to having to service both bustling metropolitan areas to remote communities. To address these challenges WAPOL needed a solution that helped enhance officer mobility and improve operational efficiency.
With WAPOL’s existing computer aided dispatch (CAD) system approaching the end of its operational life, the organisation saw this as an opportunity to use new technology to maintain its current service levels to the WA community and help address some of its key challenges.
This presentation will talk about how WAPOL approached the CAD replacement, the need for additional CAD functionality because of the growing dependence on both voice and data, and the need for enhanced mobility for officers in the field. Andrew will also touch on the benefits that upgrade has brought to WAPOL including improved efficiency, cost and time savings and ultimately the improvement to officer safety.
